ROCK CAMP IN ORLANDO JULY 7 -11

The music store "Drums and More" are having a "ROCK 'N U" Rock Camp in Orlando, Florida July 7th through the 11th for up and coming players ages 10 - 18. It will be a blast for these young players!! Kevin is just one of the many incredible instructors that will be teaching - as all instruments will have great teachers with fantastic musical backgrounds in teaching, touring and recording with the best of the best artist in the music field. All have very impressive resume's indeed.

There will be many highlights to this camp including of course the instruction classes, sound and recording classes and we will be putting groups together to form bands which will be playing together on the last day of the event for friends and family on a big stage set up. All will be included no matter what your level currently is. We only have room for only 50 students and people are signing up everyday since the short amount of time it has been advertised. "Drums and More" is an all purpose music store that focuses on lessons. My good friends that I've known for close to 20 years are the owners (Johnny G. and Scott) and have my highest respect as they are doing this for the right reasons and really doing everything in their power to help young players grow to be full time, working players. They have some great instructors and the business is just going to grow and grow. When Johnny and Scott offered me my own room to teach ROCK DRUMS, I couldn't say no. I have been going to the students for a couple of years now but it is always great to have a comfortable place to teach for the students, their parents and the instructors. What I love so much is that the business end is being handled by people I trust and respect. They also have two other drum instructors that focus more on reading music which is great in itself for the kids that are in band at their school and have to read charts for the drum line, etc. this is invaluable information that will last them a lifetime. I have met and seen these instructors in action and i can tell you that if you want to learn to read music and play jazz style drums, these are your guys to get you on the right foot and help you grow from there. I, as many of you know very well am a ROCK Drummer with a strong love for Rock, R & B, Funk, - basically anything that makes you move and groove - yes even Country Music. The young country music that is coming out now is very similar to rock in many ways. They just add the "twang" and there you have it! I do not teach reading as it has never been required in my 30 plus years of touring and recording full time yet reading is so valuable and can very much help you go to another level entirely. This situation with the drums and drum instructors works out fantastic because we don't step on each others toes. "DRUMS and MORE" has something for every musician or soon to be musician and it is taken very seriously and handled with utmost care.
